Launch of DAB+ on December 1st

On December 1, Luxembourg’s radio landscape takes a major step forward with the official start of digital DAB+ broadcasting. Listeners will enjoy a wider range of radio stations with improved quality. To inform citizens about this new technology, an awareness campaign will be launched during December. Below you will find the radio spots produced as part of this campaign.

The 12 Radio Stations Selected for Luxembourg’s First National DAB+ Multiplex

To strengthen media pluralism and develop digital radio, the Service des médias, de la connectivité et de la politique numérique (SMC) launched a public call on 26 February 2025 for DAB+ broadcasting. Following evaluation and ALIA’s advice, 12 stations will join the first national multiplex: Crooner Radio, Eldoradio, L’essentiel Radio, LOR’FM, Nostalgie Luxembourg, Opus 100.7, Radio 100.7, Radio ARA, Radio Latina, RTL Deutschlands Hit-Radio, RTL Radio Lëtzebuerg, Today Radio.

BCE Expands DAB+ Infrastructure Across Luxembourg

After receiving the license, the Broadcasting Center Europe (BCE) completed the first phase of its rollout by installing new antennas and transmitters at Dudelange, Hosingen, and Jardin Napoléon. Phase 2, scheduled for 2026, will add six more transmitters to optimize reception and expand coverage throughout Luxembourg.
